It was a good place to visit while in town for lunch.
Nice setting. Busy place. Weird that the hostess tried to set the 5 of us at a small table on the floor initially, with our having a reservation no less. Got to the booth that I initially wanted, but that was discovered to be a tighter fit as well but definitely better than the table. Food was very good. Coupon from the Palm Springs app was valid for a tasty appetizer.
Some of the food was great and some was just ok. There were six of us so there was quite a bit ordered, giving us a large sampling of the menu. Service was average. Cool old building but was a little loud due to the high ceilings. We may return for a couple of the good dishes.
Boozehounds…Heard great things and was super excited to try it. Unfortunately, it did not meet the mark or come even close. Super cool restaurant when you walk in. Interestingly/unexpectedly, there were no less than four bachelor/bachelorette parties when we walked in. Maybe that was my fault but not the vibe we were looking for. We’ve been to Boozehounds many, many times and plan to keep returning. This time, however, it was very, very noisy…hard to hear each other. Also, although our table was okay, it was not what we reserved-we reserved a high top for four ( they are by the windows) but were directed to a central table ( which may have also contributed to the noise level). It was fun and we would definitely go back. There were two portions to the desert. The first one was quite fine. The second one was really over the top and too sweet.
We have been to Boozehounds on several occasions for their weekend brunch and dinners. This time we went for their special tasting event and it surpassed expectations. The curated food and cocktail pairing menu was thoughtful, delicious and well-executed.
A great experience. My son and daughter-in-law had their dog and he was treated like a prince. Food was great and the service friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back.
